On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT) is the easiest way for experienced workers to prove they can do the job. It turns existing skills and experience into a nationally recognised qualification, such as an NVQ and helps workers to qualify for a CSCS card.
All assessments are carried out whilst onsite so no work time is lost and workers only have to train for the things they don't know how to do, as OSAT recognises the skills they already have. The option to come into our workshop to learn new skills and techniques is also available to you.
Why do OSAT with us?
● No work time lost
● Easier for workers who find reading and writing difficult
● We do all the paperwork for you
● No classrooms
● The cost of the NVQ may be covered - check if you are eligible
● Takes account of existing skills so you only train for the things you don't know how to do
● Qualified workers do the job better, have fewer accidents and waste less time corrcting mistakes

CSCS - Construction Skilled Certification Scheme
The Construction Skilled Certification Scheme (CSCS cards) was creates to help improve quality of work and safety on construction sites. It's a nation-wide scheme that proves the cardholder is competent, has the correct certificates/qualifications for their job and has passed a health and safety test.
Most contractors will now demand proof of skills before allowing workers onto their site, so not having a CSCS card may prevent you from working on some construction sites.
To apply for a CSCS card you must have passed the ConstructionSkills Halth and Safety test within the past two years. This is a PC-based touch screen test that takes around 30 minutes and can be taken in a test centre or a mobile testing unit.
